Our most scenic match lake, full of features, full of fish...
The lake has 65 well maintained pegs with the vast majority of the pegs having adjacent features to fish up to including: islands, lily pads and rushes.
Every peg is somewhat different and offers the anglers a wide variety of tactics to consider.
Depths vary around the lake and range from 2ft in the margins and up to the features, increasing to 8ft in the middle areas of the lake.
The lake contains a terrific head of carp, with the lake match record currently standing at 335lb 6oz.
However, do not rule out the huge head of silverfish this lake has to offer. Mixed bags of silverfish of 150lb+ are regularly caught and certainly play a huge part in matches when the carp are not so dominant.

Tactics
If carp are the target species, the fishery 8mm and 11mm pellets are without doubt the standout bait, although meat and corn can also be deadly in the correct conditions.
Fish tend to hold around the features this lake has to offer so a range of methods including long and short pole, both shallow and on the deck, bomb and waggler are all equally effective.
The silverfish tend to respond well to the fishery 4mm and 6mm expanders fished over a bed of 2mm micro pellets.
Maggots, casters, worms, corn, meat and paste can also be effective. In the warmer months, the short pole shallow is the best method to catch the larger weights of silver this lake has to offer.
Notes
